The Volume Panel: Confirming Every Signal
Read the platform's Volume panel to confirm or reject every signal you've seen so far
Price tells you what happened. Volume tells you whether to believe it. If you only learn one habit from this entire module, make it this: never trust a price signal that volume contradicts.
Volume is the count of shares that changed hands. It is the only objective measure of how many participants were involved in a price move. A 5% rally on 4× average volume means thousands of separate decisions to buy.
The same 5% rally on 0.4× average volume might be a single buyer with no follow-through. Same chart, opposite conviction.
Today's volume divided by the 20-day average. > 2× = breakout-grade conviction. > 1.
5× = significantly above normal. < 0.5× = unusually quiet.
The platform color-codes this row green when > 1.5, red when < 0.5, white in between.
Read this row FIRST whenever you see a price-based signal anywhere else on the page.
That is the opening. Finishing a lesson is where it stops being interesting and starts being useful: the full lesson runs to 6 sections and ends with 4 practice questions. A free account is what opens the rest, and the other 255 lessons in the Academy with it. No card.
